Founded in 1993, PFLAG Lubbock is the oldest organization dedicated to supporting, educating, and advocating for LGBTQ+ people and their families on the South Plains.

Who We Are

PFLAG is an organization working to create a caring, just, and affirming world for LGBTQ+ people. We support families, educate allies, and advocate for equality through our network of supporters, members, and chapters across the country.

PFLAG Lubbock has regular meetings on the 3rd Tuesday of each month.

Find us at 7:00 pm at St. John’s United Methodist Church, 1501 University Avenue, Lubbock, TX 79401.

We also have several special events during the year, such as an annual picnic, holiday dinner and gift exchange, National Coming Out Day dinners, community events, and speaking engagements.

Monthly Meetings

WHAT TO EXPECT AT MONTHLY MEETINGS

PFLAG Lubbock meetings are a safe place to share our experiences in small groups and support each other in the continuing process of learning, acceptance, and celebration. Our meetings begin at 7:00 pm, but come a few minutes early to meet others and browse materials.

The size of our meetings vary, however, you can expect 15 to 30 people (members and first-time visitors).

The meeting begins with the Chapter President welcoming everyone and making a few announcements. Each month we offer a program that focuses on one of the three primary missions: Support, Education, or Advocacy.

Programs normally last between 30-45 minutes. We will have announcements from the floor after the program, at which time everyone is invited to share any news or concerns that they would like to share. No one will be pressed to share information, and simply listening what others have to say is fine.

Confidentiality is a top priority. Nothing said during sharing or support time will leave our meeting room.

Our organization does not promote one religion or political party or candidate over another. We represent people of many backgrounds, political persuasions, and faiths. All are welcome.
